Русский офицер ехал на Кавказ,
По приказу батюшки-царя,
Бравые усы, конь - хоть напоказ,
И глаза отвагою горят.
Здесь когда-то дед тоже воевал,
Задавал он персам прикурить,
Офицерский чин внуку завещал
И Кавказ врагу не уступить.
Выступил в поход горный эскадрон,
Он в боях немало повидал,
На большом хребте выставил заслон,
