The official title of the song is "Monolog pilota "Chyornogo tulpana". But it's commonly known as "Chyorny tulpan". I preferred to edit the title as is now because most users worldwide would seek the lyrics under this very title so the song lyrics will get more hits, which is to the site benefit.

In Afghanistan, on the 'Black Tulip' flight,

1. русским зарницам - Russian summer lightning - aircraft aerial flares lauching to avoid infrared (heat-seeking) missiles.
2. стингер - Stinger, a hand-held, shoulder-fired, surface-to-air missile
They emit signature clouds (of smoke) on launch.
3. 'get it' means to be killed, or shot down, blown up, 'crack up' means for objects to crash or wreck, or for an individual to lose their cool and become unreasoning in this context.
4. Black tulips are a symbol for farewell, and are used to honour someone who has passed on.
5. There is a common terminology amongst soldiers that they are the dead in body bags.
There is a slang meaning and distinguished meaning for the war dead.
A flight back home would be a 'black tulip flight', but it is not an aircraft nomenclature or given name. A 'flight' designates the purpose of a mission.
When the cargo aircraft off-loads then it will pick up a supply flight 'beans, bullets, and bandages'. That flight would be resupply/destination.
Flight destignators do not reflect aircraft type, configuration, name, or nomenclature.
