Родилась в Одессе в 1919. Настоящая фамилия, по некоторым сведениям, Верникова. В разгар гражданской войны была вывезена из России во Францию родителями. В возрасте 15 лет познакомилась со знаменитым скульптором, тогда уже непререкаемым и престарелым классиком 73-х лет Аристидом Майолем и стала его излюбленной моделью. Он представлял ее в виде разнообразных ню в бронзе, мраморе и прочих материалах (композиции "Река", "Воздух", "Гармония" и др.). Верни позировала также Матиссу, Боннару, Дюфи. Она была знакома с Бретоном, Дюшаном, Таможенником Руссо, С. Поляковым, С.Шаршуном и др. Снималась в кино вместе с Жаном-Луи Барро и Бернаром Блие.
27 сентября 1944 г. Майоль погиб в автокатастрофе, и всё свое состояние и все свои коллекции завещал ей. С этого момента Дина Верни становится галеристкой в Париже, и притом одной из самых успешных. С 1947 ей принадлежит галерея на ул. Жакоб в престижном VI округе Парижа. Открывшийся в 1995 музей Майоля - фонд Дины Верни (улица Гренель, 61, тот же VI округ), кроме работ Майоля в постоянной экспозиции, отличается исключительно высоким уровнем выставок.
В 50-60-х годах часто бывала в СССР, встречалась с диссидентами и художниками-авангардистами, увлеклась русским "блатным" музыкальным фольклором. В конце 60-х во Франции записала на кассету цикл русского шансона (куда вошли, в числе прочих, песни Владимира Высоцкого и Юза Алешковского). В середине 70-х часть этих песен была издана на пластинке "Блатные песни" во Франции. And here I sit in jail again
