Every lyric site, including this one, has the lyrics written as, "There is no open window, but the floors still creep". That makes no sense. After listening to the song with headphones on, several dozen times, it sounds to me like he's saying "but the floors still creak". And floors do creak, especially in creepy, old houses! And this is a creepy song, and I love it!

Yes, but only "creep" rhymes with sleep; and the idea of an old floor creaking is something completely ordinary; whereas the idea of the floor itself subtly moving - creeping - is indeed extremely spooky -- why, it's downright creepy!

I actually agree with the first comment. "but the floors still creak" sounds more logical and it's creepy, It's ordinary when you step on the floor, but the girl (or boy) is sleeping, and the window is closed and there should be deep deep silence. But smth is in the corner, invisible, and the floor is creaking like smb is walking but no one is seen. Creepy, isn't is?
