“Smoke wind” is Korean slang for having an affair, so it’s a play on words. While others are out screwing around, he’s writing lyrics and dropping beats.

In later performances of the song, RM changed this lyric from “when women cheat” to “when people cheat,” to be more equal.

Min Yoongi is introducing himself with his two aliases: His stage name with BTS, Suga, and Agust D, another pseudonym that acts as a rap alter ego. Agust D backwards is “D-t Suga” or “D-town Suga,” shouting out Suga’s hometown of Daegu.

In August of 2016, he released his first solo mixtape under the name Agust D.

This is also a reference back to the previous line about “doing hip-hop through the keyboard”. The people who comment and criticize can’t even spit a single verse, so why do they think they have the right to talk about his rap?

Aphasia is a language disorder that results from damage to portions of the brain responsible for language. RM is going one step further, comparing the things said on previous lines with this disorder concerning rappers having basic flows.

He then categorizes these people as con artists, people adept to lying, because they pretend to be something they aren’t by criticizing his rapping whilst theirs is subpar.

Here the 쉿 (shush) is pronounced like “shit”.

Hugo Boss is a German luxury fashion brand, so the lyrics here are a wordplay on the name. He doesn’t need to wear expensive clothes to prove his credit—his talent is his proof.

In Korean, 부처 is pronounced “bucheo”, making it a homophone with the English loan-word “butcher.” RM identifies himself not as someone as peaceful as a Buddhist, but someone who has a powerful and aggressive personality.

“Rock seller” is slang for a “fraud” in Korean, so he’s calling his haters frauds and con men again for putting out tracks that are basic, unoriginal, and not real hip hop by his definition.

언니 is a Korean word used by females when addressing older females as a sign of respect.

As a man, the usage of Unnie instead of Noona (누나 – word used by men when addressing older females) in Korea is predominant among the gay community.

Beep Beep (삐삐) is the sound of a cellphone ringing, so he might be saying that girls hit him up a lot.

“Beagle” is a Korean slang term for a happy, energetic person, which is how J-Hope often acts.

This verse contains a wordplay with the words flow job similar to the words blow job.

In Korean folklore, 불가사리 is a nearly invulnerable monster that grows and becomes stronger by eating metal, often metal that was used in an attempt to attack it. Suga appears to be comparing himself to a nearly invulnerable monster who fights corrupt power, growing stronger the more “junk” (jealousy and hate) no-names attack him with.

“Going to Hong Kong” became a euphemism for reaching a sexual climax so powerful you saw bright lights—you were “going” (orgasming) and saw bright lights (of the Hong Kong skyline).
