There was a lot of 'man' in this song, which, to be honest, threw me off. So did the fact that it's a bit poetic in construction, and trying to retain that tone is a pain in the ass. For a song so abstract it has a very specific feeling.
I changed 'pangkat' in the first verse to 'bangka', because 'pangkat' means group and that didn't really make sense to me. It's possible that there was a mistake in transcribing the lyrics; even if there wasn't, just replace 'boat' with 'group' and we'll be gucci.
''Di mo ba alam ang pinagmulan?
Kamatayan man ang makalaban?'
was very hard to translate because I couldn't quite understand what the two lines actually meant. So, you know, take that with a grain of salt.
'Panahon' means 'weather', but in this context reads more like its other definition, 'time', so that's what I put there.
Note--'pinagmulan' usually can be translated as 'source', but it didn't sit right. 'Pinagmulan' can also mean 'roots', especially when talking about people, so I used 'root'. I would've used 'root' for the title too, but that sounded strange, so there you go.
Another note--'pagtingin' can mean 'look' as in gaze, as in the expression conveyed by the eyes specifically, but it can also mean 'look' as in the expression of the whole face, sometimes of the whole body. Or at least, that's how I know it.
